Job Summary
The Ark Playday Centre is an inclusive, nature-based non- profit daycare located in the heart of Telkwa. We are part of BC's $10-a - day program, making quality childcare affordable for local families. Our mission is to nurture young children's minds through hands-on, outdoor exploration, fostering their social and developmental growth.
We are seeking a qualified, energetic, and passionate individual who shares our belief in the value of nature and play in early childhood education. At The Ark Playday Centre, we aim to create a pressure-free environment that encourages independence and a lifelong love of learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a safe and stimulating play environment, ensuring the well-being of all children.
- Observe and assess each child’s individual development and learning progression, adapting approaches as necessary.
- Foster an inclusive and nurturing atmosphere that supports the diverse needs of all children.
- Collaborate with team members and families to develop strong relationships that enhance children’s learning experiences
Qualifications and Skill Requirements
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) certification and BC ECE Registry
- Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
- Passion for nature and outdoor activities, with the ability to integrate these elements into learning experiences.
