The Burnaby Children’s Centres Society (BCCS) is a non-profit childcare organization which provides childcare for infants aged 3 months to 5 years. The BCCS operates two licensed childcare facilities, 5 classrooms with combined enrollment of 82 children.
ľ¹ÏÖ±²¥ the Role:
At BCCS we are currently looking for a Part Time Program Supervisor. The hours will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:30 am – 5:30pm, with Full Time hours when the Executive Director is away. The three days a week will comprise of office time and on floor observation time, with the occasional time spent in ratio when needed. We are looking for a motivated, driven candidate who wants to grow their established career in early childcare education while assisting BCCS in continuing to provide high level, quality programming and care for its children.
The Program Supervisor is responsible for supporting BCCS policies and procedures and monitoring staff for compliance of same, inclusive of ECE BC Code of Ethics. In addition, the Program Supervisor is responsible for supporting some administration, licensing and regulatory needs of BCCS, as outlined in the full job description.
In order to be effective in this position, excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral, written and presentation skills), together with strong Human Resources and Labour Relations knowledge, skills and experience are required (preferably in a unionized setting).
The Program Supervisor will support staff with the development, implementation and ongoing evaluation of a curriculum that reflects BCCS’ philosophy. Skill and interest in developing creative and enriching programming using emergent and reflective practices in child development and health, and familiarity with a Pedagogical approach, is therefore a requirement.

The Candidate Will Have:
•
A diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education, with Human Resources or labour supervision and/or other relevant experience in a Supervisory position
•
At least three years’ experience in a supervisory position preferably in a unionized environment
•
At least 6 years experience in the field of ECE
•
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•
Demonstrated knowledge of Licensing Regulations
•
Demonstrated knowledge of the Early Learning Framework, ľ¹ÏÖ±²¥Code of Ethics, Pedagogy, and Trauma Informed Practice.
•
Demonstrated knowledge of Society policies, procedures and philosophy
•
Demonstrated knowledge of financial management including working within a budget and review of expenditure against budget, utilization and staffing levels.
•
Demonstrated innovative and forward-thinking processes and problem-solving skills
•
Team player with a commitment to reflective work with children and an eagerness to promote collaborative interactions with all staff
•
Ability to work collaboratively with respect to families, program staff, volunteers, and other entities involved at BCCS.

Wage range from $26.00 - $29.00 per hour with additional $6/hr for time spent on floor.
