ECE PRESCHOOL TEACHER WANTED
POSITION: Little People’s Community Preschool is currently seeking a full-time
Preschool Teacher for the upcoming school year. The position is for 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday, 8 am – 4 pm. Teaching duties will begin in September 2025, with some paid work to occur before September.
ABOUT US: Little People’s Community Preschool is a play-based preschool that has been serving the neighbourhood of Kerrisdale/Dunbar for 50 years. Ideally located in the heart of Kerrisdale, Little People’s prides itself on being part of the foundation of the local community. Its open-door policy welcomes parents to be involved in their children’s early education and it strives to foster community among its families through such events as educational evenings and social gatherings.
Little People’s Community Preschool enjoys a very large, bright and well-equipped classroom, as well as a fully fenced private playground. A school manager and supportive Board of Directors oversee the adminstrative work, leaving the teachers free to concentrate on program planning and teaching.
PRESCHOOL TEACHER’S ROLE: Part of a strong team of teachers, the Preschool Teacher will be an integral part of the school’s program planning and implementation. Working within a play-based curriculum, the Preschool Teacher’s job duties will include: creating developmentally appropriate activities and experiences for the children, leading circle times, and engaging with the children as a play partner and role model. The ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with a team of teachers is essential.
QUALIFICATIONS: Current ECE license, Criminal Record Check, valid First Aid and CPR certificate, and character references from past employers and/or teachers.Two years of experience in the same field is preferred.
REMUNERATION: The Preschool Teacher position offers competitive wages in line with education and experience, a comprehensive medical and dental benefits package, and holidays that follow the Vancouver School Board schedule. Little People’s also participates in the BC government’s ECE Wage Enhancement Program.

Basic ECE
Additional Qualifications:

Two years of experience in the same field is preferred.
Salary & Benefits:
A pay range $20-28 (preschool paid) + up to $6 (Early Childhood Educator Wage Enhancement Program paid) per hour.
