Job Overview:

Christian Life Children’s Centre is a licensed childcare facility in Campbell River, BC providing care for children between 1-12years old. Our centre was started by Christian Life Fellowship, and members of this church sit on our board of directors. We strive to provide safe, nurturing, respectful care so that children feel valued, and families feel supported. We are seeking a fully qualified Early Childhood Educator who holds a valid License to Practice in BC to join our team. Our programs are play based, and teams work together to provide learning opportunities appropriate for the different age groups we provide care for. As an inclusive Centre, we also provide care and resources for children requiring extra support to attend care. We work closely with local professionals and the Supported Child Development Centre. We are looking for Educators with strong communication, observation, and classroom management skills. A keen understanding of child development and the ability to foster a positive work environment while supporting children and modeling faith to the children in our care is necessary.

Additional Qualifications:

• Work within a team setting to provide safe, nurturing, appropriate care and learning opportunities
• Support children in moving through childcare routines and learning opportunities using positive guidance strategies and inclusive universal supports
• Plan within the staff team to promote growth and development of the children in the program by implementing curriculum that is age appropriate
• Maintain appropriate health and safety requirements to meet licensing requirements
• Be confident in leading circle times, art activities, baking/cooking, gross motor activities and in leading Bible related activities
• Support children’s development socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively
• Engage or lead facilitated and unfacilitated play both indoors and outdoors
• Be committed to following and engaging in the BC Early Learning Framework and Christian Life Children’s Centre Staff policies and procedures

Required Experience:

• Hold a valid License to Practice as an Early Childhood Educator in the province of BC
• Experience in mentoring Early Childhood Educator students
• Hold a valid Emergency Child Care First Aid & CPR/AED certificate
• Must successfully pass a Criminal Record Check through the Criminal Record Review Program
• Class 2 license or be willing to obtain it is preferred (training and license upgrade costs are provided)

Salary & Benefits:

• $23.34-25.30/hr. PLUS the current Wage Enhancement and a $1.50/hour bus driver top up (if applicable) depending on qualifications and experience
